What We Liked Most

• Location: The hotel is well situated in a neighborhood where it is easy to walk around during the day or night. There are plenty of restaurants and entertainment nearby. AMC Theater is just around the corner. The places we wanted to visit were within a 10 to 15-minute walk.  
• Amenities: The made-to-order breakfast was hot and delicious. The hotel staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
• Room: We had a corner suite (upgrade) which made the stay very quiet. We were on the 15th floor with a nice view of the river. Wi-fi is strong and stable. 

What We Liked Least

• The hotel was completely booked, so the wait for our room was an hour and thirty minutes past check-in. 
• The lobby area is very noisy from the foot traffic. It also made the lines for the manager’s reception very long.

What We Did During Our Staycation

We were not as adventurous as normal, so this staycation was a getaway from the everyday grind. Our family needed a break from our normal routines of full-time work and college studies. We visited from Saturday to Sunday during our staycation. After we stored our bags in the suite, we were ready to explore the Magnificent Mile neighborhood at a relaxed pace. 

• Shopped at Eataly (43 E Ohio) and ate gelato.
• Dined at True Food Kitchen | 1 W. Erie for a healthy plant-based dinner. 
• Walked around the area, shopped at Northbridge, and returned to the suite.   
• After breakfast, we visited the Chicago Architecture Center | 111 E. Wacker Dr. We recommend this for an overview of Chicago architecture. There is a great film that discusses the history of the city. Admission is only $7.
• Visited the Ice Cream Museum | 435 N. Michigan.
• Took a short walk to Chicago Starbucks Reserve Roastery to pick up some coffee beans. 
• Walked along the Chicago River while watching the boat architecture tours.
