And with the World’s largest Starbucks Reserve Roastery located in Chicago, coffee has reigned supreme on the Magnificent Mile since 2019.

The coffee brand continues to innovate with crafted drinks infused with olive oil called Oleato.

The idea was born in Sicily where a spoonful of oil is consumed every day for good health.

Thus, Starbucks Reserve is now making a bulletproof entry into the coffee market with its line of specialty beverages.

Here’s a look at the roaster in the Windy City.

What is a Starbucks Reserve?

Starbucks Reserve is a limited, small-batch roasting of amazing coffees. The coffees tell a unique story because they are rare and sought out around the world.

Exceptional coffees grown under the right climate and conditions are delivered to the Reserve for their unique flavor experience.

Stay alert because when these coffees head to the market at the Roastery Reserve, they are gone in just a few weeks!

Here’s a guide to 5 fabulous floors of roasted goodness.

The Chicago Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar

On the first floor, you will find a coffee bar where you can order and enjoy a variety of specialty coffee drinks. There is a retail section that offers a selection of unique merchandise.

If you are looking for artsy and funky gifts, there is an honest chance you will find them in the retail shopping area. Some items even have a Chicago theme.

You’ll also find the coffee scooping bar where you’ll be able to obtain freshly ground bags of coffee.

Princi Bakery and Cafe

Ah…la dolce vita (the sweet life). Nothing feels sweeter than having an Italian breakfast on the second floor!

Seating is lined up alongside the windows for sweeping views of Michigan Avenue. It’s a wonderful way to people-watch and fuel up with family or friends before or after an outing.

Indoor seating is spacious and there’s outdoor table seating too (rooftop). Try the Chocolate Hazelnut Cornetto (croissants), the pastry is so flaky, so crunchy, and baked just right.

The fruit tarts at Princi Bakery are beautifully crafted, with a buttery crust and a variety of fresh fruits on top. They’re a perfect choice for those who prefer a lighter pastry.

Breakfast in Chicago lives up to the hype. And Princi is among one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets for an elevated food experience.

Princi is a Milan-based Italian brand that started in 1985 by making artisanal bread. Now, you can find a wide selection of hand-made bread, fresh pastries, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and desserts on the second floor of Starbucks Reserve.

Beyond flavors, you will be most impressed with the standard of high-quality ingredients. Even the sliced meats on their pizza are gourmet level.

Experimental Coffee Bar

The third floor is a popular location for its creative coffee flair. Not sure what to try?

Start with a Brew Comparison Flight where you receive the identical coffee brewed in several different ways (espresso, clover brewed, pour-over, press) for an eye-opening, palate-expanding coffee experience.

This bar is where all the creative coffee is made. Try the Pistachio Latte which is a rich, full-bodied coffee blend complemented by an earthy, nutty taste of pistachio-infused milk with a hint of orange zest and topped with the perfect sprinkle of salty-sweet pistachio topped.

Coffee flavors can be further enhanced with Starbucks’ curated selection of chocolate truffles.

For rich, European-style coffee, try one among the espresso classics. They also serve coffee and nitro (liquid nitrogen-infused) gelato for a decadent pairing with a pastry dessert.

Arriviamo Cocktail Bar

Starbucks Reserve

Make your way to the fourth floor for yummy Signature and Classic coffee cocktails like their Espresso Martini.

The dark chocolate and espresso are rich, balanced, and not too sweet. The cocktail is chilled to a T.  How about a martini adventure?

At the Arriviamo Cocktail Bar, buckle up and don’t miss the Espresso Martini flight. It is the Espresso Martini split into three flavors (Cherry Limone, Orange Cacao, and Molé Spice). Or try one of the Chicago exclusive drinks like the Lake Shore or a Maharaja Chai Nog.

Tea-based cocktails are also available. Live your best life and luxuriate with a spritz of Aperol like a native Italian!

On this floor, you will also find roastery-inspired gifts.

Roof Terrace

Sit outdoors on the rooftop terrace above the bustling Magnificent Mile and enjoy your coffee drink of choice.

It’s also a nice view of the creative mural artwork from artisans, which changes over time.

The Magnificent Mile is a gateway to shopping, food, and celebrations that make residents, near and far, Chicago proud.

If you plan to stay in Chicago, you can’t beat this location for access to some of the best Chicago has to offer.

On the rooftop, you can sit back and enjoy your coffee in the clouds!
